Getting there - by train

Maximise the amount of time in the resort with up to eight days on the slopes and travel by train, arguably the most civilised and environmentally friendly way of getting to the French Alps.

Avoid ridiculous check-in times, long airport queues and even longer transfers, and take the train straight to Bourg St Maurice/Aime/Landry in the heart of the French Alps. Once there pick up a 30 minute transfer to Plan Peisey and Vallandry in the heart of the Paradiski, and hit the slopes.

EuroStar Ski Train

Ski Apartment - EurostarThis is without question the easiest and most convenient way to get your Alpine kicks in the Winter. There are 2 direct ski trains each week during the season, bookable via www.eurostar.com. On Friday night the overnight train departs London St Pancras to arrive at Bourg St Maurice in the Tarentaise Valley in the early morning. While the day time service leaves each Saturday morning throughout the Winter season.

Rail Europe's Snow Trains

Rail Europe's Snow Trains to the French Alps, bookable via www.raileurope.co.uk. Sleep the journey away in a comfortable couchette and arrive refreshed for the holiday ahead.

Paris Service - London St Pancras via Paris (White train)

A dedicated Eurostar service from London St Pancras on Friday afternoon to Paris Gare du Nord. On arrival in Paris, simply transfer to another platform to board the overnight train. The train arrives in the French Alps early on Saturday morning.

Calais Service - Folkestone via Calais (Blue Train)

Join the chartered coach from Folkestone and travel via Eurotunnel on the Friday evening to Calais, where the coach will transfer you to Calais Ville station for boarding the overnight train. The train arrives in the French Alps early on Saturday morning.

Other Rail Europe services

Another alternative is to travel on a Eurostar/TGV via Paris service bookable via www.raileurope.co.uk. These run every day several times a day, and are therefore less restrictive than the Eurostar Ski Train or Rail Europe Snowtrain services which only run at weekends during the winter season. Once in the French capital you will have to cross Paris to catch your forwarding service to the Alps, although some of the connections travel via Lille which means you just need to change platforms rather than having to cross the capital.
