50 feature-length movies from around Europe will be shown, of which 4 will be premiering, 12 officially competing for the
'Cristal Arrow' prize and 8 aimed at a younger public. This year, the festival will be paying tribute to Hungary and the jury
will include famous names from European cinema. For all audiences. The resort and part of the ski area will be opened
especially for the event.
Les Etoiles du Sport (Sports stars of the future) - la Plagne - 13th to 18th December 2009.
20 French sportspeople from 20 sporting fields will be joined by 20 youth competitors in la Plagne to compete in pairs and
select the best young sportsperson of the year. The event, which combines sport, human endeavour and education allows
firm values to passed down to young sportspeople to help them become tomorrows champions.
Paradiski Open Day - 19th December 2009.
Paradiski will be opening with a bang this season. If you are in possession of a currently valid
Les Arcs/Peisey-Vallandry or la Plagne ski pass, you will be able to access Paradiski free of charge on
19th December 2009. With entertainment and free food tastings on the pistes.
Derby du Derby - 3rd edition - 13th January 2010.
Nordic weeks - Peisey-Vallandry - 23rd January to 27th February 2010.
Spend a week living like a Nordic adventurer: learn to drive a traditional pulka sled drawn by huskies, go trekking and
bivouac in an American-Indian camp set up on the doorstep of the Vanoise national Park. Supervised by Nordic explorer
Stéphane Guist'hau.
The 2010 Les Arcs Speed Flying Pro - 25th to 29th January 2010.
This will be the 4th edition of this international event. Speed Flying is a brand-new extreme
sport that combines paragliding and skiing to help negotiate the most difficult slopes.
Eight countries are represented by the top-20 speed fliers in the world, and they will be
competing for the season's most coveted title and providing an amazing freeride show in
the most stunning off-piste areas of LesArcs.
Dog sled races - Peisey-Vallandry - 28th and 29th January 2010.
Over two days, around a hundred teams of Nordic dog breeds (Huskies, Malamutes,
Samoyeds and Greenland dogs) will be competing in sprint and middle-distance races,
both by day and by night. The event is organised by the French Pulka and Dog Sledding
Federation, fuelling childhood dreams and fulfilling that need to get closer to nature.
The Gordzerette - Champagny en Vanoise - 29th to 31th January 2010.
A multi-activity tournament (ice climbing, rope courses, hay sled races, Nordic skiing with
wooden-disk throwing, as well as a surprise event) held around the Ice Tower at
Champagny en Vanoise and assembling 125 two-person teams. Open to all. Ice climbing
lessons for beginners and demonstrations by the world’s leading proponents of the sport.
French Ski Joering Championships - Les Arcs - 30th and 31th January 2010.
Sled, slalom and sprint versions of this spectacular winter sport, which combines skiing and
horse driving! Free of charge for all.

Festi Gliss - Plagne Montalbert - 30th January to 6th February 2010.
Fill up on new thrills at Plagne-Montalbert, a 'new-school' resort in the purest sense! Test crazy machines like the yooner
(a sled perched on a ski), the airboard, the Snake Gliss (interlinked sledges), the snow scooter, the Trikke Ski and the SMX
(snow bike). New: the Zipfy, a freestyle mini-sledge, and the Speedel snow luge.

A massive night-time freestyle show featuring the regions best riders! Arc 1800.
Finals of the FIS TelemarkWorld Cup - Montchavin-Les Coches/la Plagne - 17th to 20th March 2010.
Plagne Centre and Montchavin-Les Coches will be hosting the finals of the FIS Telemark World Cup, with Sprint, Giant
slalom and Classic events. Over a hundred telemark skiers from a dozen countries are expected.
Snow rugby - Peisey-Vallandry - 18th March 2010.
Rugby will be scaling the slopes on St. Patricks day, in honour of our friends from the UK
and Ireland. A tournament will be held on the pistes, using a pitch approved by the French
Rugby Federation, at an altitude of 2,300 metres. The final will take place at the end of
the day, in the centre of the resort of Vallandry.
The GMX - Les Arcs - 27th and 28th March 2010.
The Gavaggio Master Cross at Les Arcs will be the first ever ski-cross event for youngsters aged 11 to 14. Ski-cross will be
making its first appearance at the Vancouver Olympics next February, and Enak Gavaggio, a multiple winner in the sport, will be
spearheading the event and passing on his experience to the kids at this unprecedented contest.
Winter Urban Plagne - la Plagne - April 2010.
An unusual concept that includes an exhibitor village, ski testing, demos and a giant ice
bar. Come with your skis or snowboard and our graphic artists will give them a full redesign.
This is an event that mixes urban style with snow sports.
The Verti'KL - Arc 2000 - April 2010.
A unique Ski Mountaineering event involving a 1078m climb up the couloir used by Arc 2000s famous speed-skiing piste,
culminating at the Aiguille Rouge glacier at 3226m.
Agricultural fair - Peisey-Vallandry - 21st April 2010.
To close the season, we showcase our local producers. Local breeders, farmers and craftsmen will be exhibiting, selling and
making local products at the event (with demonstrations in traditional dress).
