Paradiski (the linked resorts of Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne) in the French Alps boasts 230+ pistes covering 425km, 160+ ski lifts, 63290m total
vertical drop, 2 glaciers with lifts, 3 peaks over 3000m, 5 snowparks, 2 halfpipes, 2 boardercross, 1 funicular, 1 bobsleigh run,
1 high speed ski run, 400+ snow cannons, etc, etc, we could go on and on... Needless to say, one of the largest ski areas in the
world* has something for everyone and caters for every ability.
More than 70% of the Paradiski ski area is located above 2000m, and is guaranteed snow sure. At such an altitude you find perfect winter snow conditions. So if you want to ski and snowboard all day and not do the same ski run twice then Paradiski is the region for you!
Check out the historic snow cover for Les Arcs & Peisey-Vallandry.
The massive double decker cable car of the Vanoise Express, capable of carrying 200 skiers, joins the ski resort of Les Arcs to La Plagne with a transit time of only 4 minutes (just enough time to admire Mont Blanc, the Italian Alps or the peaks of the Vanoise), worth a ride just for the amazing views.
Want to see an amazing 360° panorama of the Paradiski domain? Head for La Grande Rochette (2505m) in the Plagne centre
sector. From here you'll witness unrestricted views of the Col du Petit Saint Bernard (2188m), the Italian side of Mont Blanc (4807m),
La Pierra Menta (2711m), the Aravis mountains in Haute Savoie, the Col de la Madeleine (1933m), Les Ecrins (4102m), Courchevel
altiport (1850m), the glaciers of the Vanoise (3586m), La Grande Casse (3852m), La Grande Motte (the glacier in Tignes, 3653m)
and of course the summits of Bellecôte (3416m), L'Aiguille Rouge (3227m) and Le Mont Pourri (3779m) the legendary peaks of
Paradiski. Simply jaw dropping stuff. Estimated skiing time from the Vanoise Express for an average skier on blue runs is just 1 hour.
For yet another magnificent panorama head off on the top quality snow offered by the blacks, reds and exciting off piste routes around the Grand Col piste in Les Arc, everything here makes you want to ski your heart out. Follow the tracks left by the local freeriders and freestylers. Top tip: the Grand Col chairlift allows you to switch to one of Paradiski's finest off piste runs, Les Vallons de la Commune. Always ski it with a mountain guide!
Like to push yourself to the limit? Make the most of the space in Parasiski by skiing descent after descent, racking up some
impressive vertical drops and having the time of your life. Head for the Aiguille Rouge glacier in Arc 2000 from where you can ski all the way
down to Villaroger, a legendary 7 kilometre non-stop descent that takes advantage of one of Europe's biggest vertical drops (from 3200m
to 1200m without taking a single lift). Top tip: when you get to the top of the Aiguille Rouge, before putting on your skis take a few
moments to climb up to the viewpoint indicator and enjoy the fabulous panorama. When the conditions are right you can see the Swiss,
Italian and French Alps and as far as the Jura mountains. Amazing!
